Kati, 2024

My friendship with Kati is really meaningful to me! I took this picture the first and only time I was able to visit her in Nuremberg.

Apart from simply being a great friend - supportive, attentive, understanding and always willing to listen - Kati and I have spent a lot of time, like a LOT OF TIME, talking about art and its meaning. Her views on and understanding of art, humanity and the importance of art have shaped me a great deal and influenced me enormously.

Many of the ideas I hold about art, as well as many of the things I do and think about while creating, are directly derived from conversations we have had. Kati also has this ability to criticise the things I make in such a gentle way that I can immediately understand her point and integrate her ideas. Very powerful!

Even now, while I am highly disabled by severe ME, I still feel her support, and I am incredibly thankful for that.
