0034 (As)
As humans, we have the chance to truly change something—to touch, to vibrate, to confess, to choose, to love, to hate, to reject, to understand, and so much more. Yeah, as humans, we have everything we need to truly love, yet for most of our lives we hide, look away, or distance ourselves from the emotions running through our bodies like thunder erupting in the sky.
I mean, what is community, really, if not pretending that we care? Disability is a joke—society forgets us, yet we still have to pay taxes and barely have enough money to survive. Survive, yes. Actually, that’s all we do, day in and day out: trying to survive in a toxic, non- understanding society that “cares”—care as in asking how you are every six months. When you cry, you are alone. Patriarchy made sure of that.
As humans, we have the chance to truly change something.
And I’m diving, floating, smiling, forgetting, reaching out, finding myself, loving you, free-falling, hiding. As humans, we should never be alone; there should be touch wherever my fingers find themselves.
I’m projecting myself into the bark of my favorite tree, watching millennia pass by, seeing myself stretching high and low. They say nature always finds a way, but apparently exceptions prove the rule, and my veins yearn to explode.
I had to lose my mind a couple of times. I had to search for meaning. I had to fail, only to understand that love was never perfect in the first place. Life is utterly damaged, incomplete—and as humans, we are just as imperfect, incomplete, yet somehow able to perfectly harmonize and synchronize into this valley of understanding and tears.
All I wanted to say from the beginning was that, as humans, we have the chance to truly change something.
