0002 (Yeah)
Yeah, I kinda woke up this morning. I went to meditate and burned incense. I didn’t meditate, though, because I thought it was funny that I’d forgotten to eat breakfast, haha. So I ate cereal and hummed to myself: “Kill me in a million ways; I don’t care, the sun will rise tomorrow either way.”
After eating, I thought of the forest as an entity — like a living being. I really liked that thought; it comforted me. So I lay in bed again with my eyes open. Sometimes I lie there with my eyes open and smile to myself because I’m pretty sure death won’t find me when I’m determined to win this staring contest.
Okay. Then I took my pills like a good boy, and finally I prayed. Took me quite a while, huh. I read my favorite sutra again, the one in which the Buddha tells the whole posse that they just have to focus on their breath and everything’s gonna be alright. Yippee — I might be a Buddha for 20 minutes.
Like rain, thoughts dawn in my consciousness. I start reading Murakami, but then I remember the way he writes about women and I can’t enjoy it anymore. Dude shouldn’t be famous, I think.
Well, then I plug in my hard drive for fun (fun means work) and find old negatives I’d always ignored. Now I don’t ignore them anymore; now I think they slap. So I look at them for maybe half an hour and then think: I’m blessed, as I can see all the elements buried in the flesh of my friends.
